Chile and the world are facing significant challenges as a result of climate change that require concrete, collaborative and vigorous action from all stakeholders to mitigate its impact. In this context, and in line with its commitment to minimize and mitigate its impact on water, land, air quality and biodiversity, and working with those interested in reaching effective solutions to complex environmental challenges, BHP with the support of ChileGlobal Ventures – Fundación Chile’s venture capital area – launches “Get Involved”, a call that seeks innovative solutions to help the northern regions of Chile to adapt to the consequences caused by climate change.
Innovative, collaborative, scalable and high-impact solutions that improve the autonomy and resilience of the communities of the Regions of Antofagasta and/ or Tarapacá to face the effects of climate change.
The purpose of developing Chile’s northern regions of Tarapacá and Antofagasta is to create self-sustainable, technologically advanced and energy-efficient communities, equipped with tools to continue developing their economies of scale based on their specific needs, through the transfer of capacities and technologies that address the negative impacts of climate change, which always affects the most vulnerable and poorest communities.
Institutions that have solutions focused on developing resilience and community adaptation to climate change and that are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as outlined here.
Applicants must also have the technical skills and experience necessary to implement their projects in the regions of Antofagasta and Tarapacá over a period of up to five years, for which they may partner with local organisations.
